Sorongon, Lee top St. Ignatius Run
CEBU, Philippines — Veteran Ruffa Sorongon successfully defended her crown as Prince Joey Lee dominated the men’s side in the 2019 St. Ignatius Run yesterday at the SM City-Cebu grounds.
The multi-titled Sorongon was the first to reach the finish line in the 21K women’s race with a time of 1:31:42. Stephanie Cadosale claimed the second place in 1:34:20 followed by Cherry Andrin with 1:35:20, clocking.
Lee, for his part, registered a time of 1:11:19 to snare the title. He outpaced Azlan Pagay, who settled for second in 1:11:42, while Joseph Emia wound up third with a time of 1:12:23.
Kenyan Eric Chipsiror dominated the 12K men’s action with a time of 40:10, while Joan Alinsonod won the distaff side in 51:30, clocking.
In the 6K action, Michael Largo (19:58) and Moira Erediano (23:14) reigned supreme in their respective divisions. (FREEMAN)
