PBA star rookie to grace Coach Carz basketball camp in Zamboanga Sibugay
CEBU, Philippines — PBA star rookie Robert Bolick of NorthPort Batang Pier will grace the Mindanao leg of the Coach Carz Basketball Camp set on April 23-26 at the University of Zamboanga gym in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Before turning pro, Bolick earned fame as ‘King Lion’ after powering the San Beda Red Lions to a rare grandslam feat in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) from 2016-2018.
Bolick also romped off with the MVP honors when Cignal-San Beda emerged as champion in the PBA D-League Aspirant’s Cup in 2017.
With his shining credentials in the amateur ranks, Bolick was picked third overall by the NorthPort Batang Pier in the 2018 PBA draft.
Bolick’s presence will surely inspire the participants of the four-day cage clinic that is part of the Ipil Sports Festival initiated by Ipil councilor and sports commission chairman Ramses Troy Olegario.
The camp will be supervised by veteran Cebuano coach Marvin Caro, a former assistant of four-time Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) champions Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-Ateneo) Magis Eagles.
Caro had a brief stint as assistant coach of the Zamboanga Valientes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. He just got back in MPBL’s fold after being hired by the Batangas Athletics as one of their bench tacticians.
In his maiden season as assistant coach of the National University high school varsity team, Caro readily made an impact after helping guide the NU Bullpups to the UAAP juniors crown earlier this year. EBV
