Yaw-Yan fighters dominate Sogod MMA

CEBU, Philippines — Three Yaw-Yan Ardigma practitioners hurdled their respective assignments in the 'Sogod Unleashed' mixed martial arts card the other night at the Sogod gymnasium in Sogod, Cebu.

It was a clean sweep for the boys of Yaw-Yan ArDigma founder Master Benigno 'Ekin' R. Caniga Jr. in the amateur MMA event.

Cebuano featherweight prospect Allan Albindo led Yaw-Yan's charge with an impressive second round submission victory over veteran Jessie Cabalquinto of Two Edge MMA. Albindo improved his record to a perfect 5-0.

Lightweight Clint Jun Bahala made a short work of journeyman John Edu Torbiso of Durex Dragon MMA after forcing the latter to quit via ground and pound in the 1:23 mark of the opening round.

Teen sensation Josh Ybañez made three out of three for Yaw-Yan ArDigma  after finishing off Adi Bineranda of Club Amigo/Black Panther MMA via armbar in the final 20 seconds of the first round.

In other featured bouts, Krista Barbosa of Ken Kickboxing mauled Alliah Torbiso of Durex Dragon in the third round, while Barbosa's teammate Christian Tabunag forced Manases Gaudan of Club Amigo to quit in the second round. (FREEMAN)
