CEBU, Philippines — The Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu girls saved the best for last as they posted a dominating 4-0 victory over top seed University of San Carlos for their back-to-back championship in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) futsal tournament yesterday at the USC gymnasium.

It was a sweet revenge for the SHS-Adc lady booters after they lost to USC in the elimination round, 2-5.

Sydney Gonzales made the first goal for SHS-AdC in the first four minutes of the game.

USC continued to get disorganized which Yoo Jin Kim capitalized scoring the second goal for SHS-Ateneo.

USC made more attempts, but SHS were ready to counter them with Andrea Alforque adding a goal on the 31st followed by the Katrina Tolentino’s goal which was the nail in USC’s coffin.

Earlier, the University of Southern Philippines Foundation defeated the University of San Jose-Recoletos, 4-2, for the third place trophy. (FREEMAN)
