Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (The Freeman) - January 21, 2019 - 12:00am

CEBU, Philippines — Spectrum Runners' Desiderio Engbino and Preciousa Sanchez reigned supreme in the Bataan Death March (BDM) 102-kilometer ultramarathon yesterday in Mariveles, Bataan.

The Cebu-based Boholano Engbino outsmarted international veteran Thomas Combisen. Engbino registered the fastest time with 10 hours, 11 minutes and 35 seconds, while Combisen settled for second in 10:14:59.

Sanchez, for her part, claimed the women's tiara but his official time was not yet available as of press time.

Both Engbino and Sanchez were winners during the BDM 102K and BDM 160K action last year, a historic feat for the Cebu long-distance runners. (FREEMAN)
