SWU spikers to begin title defense against UV

CEBU, Philippines —  Defending champion Southwestern University-Phinma seeks to draw first blood against the University of the Visayas in the start of their best-of-three series for the 18th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) men’s collegiate volleyball title today at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation gym in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

Game time is at 3:30 p.m following the women’s finals match between University of San Jose Recoletos and University of San Carlos at 1:30 p.m.

SWU spikers arranged a championship showdown with UV after finishing off the Cebu Institute of Technology University (CIT-U) in their final semis assignment, 27-25, 25-15, 25-21, yesterday.

Meanwhile, despite a loss against USJ-R, 20-25, 25-21, 24-26, 27-25 ,15-12, UV already secured the finals berth after two straight victories in the semis.

In the battle for third place,  CIT-U faces USJR in the men’s, while SWU and USPF tackles in the women’s side.
