Accenture Sharks swim to 3-0 start in E-Leagues

CEBU, Philippines — The Accenture Sharks trounced the Teleperformance Vipers, 60-46, in a battle of unbeaten teams to firm up their grip of the Elite Classic lead with a clean 3-0 slate in the Tanduay Athletics CSCC E-Leagues for Basketball Season 14 last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Accenture pulled off the 14-point romp despite having only one player in double digits in Sherwin Resilla with 10 points laced with six rebounds and four steals.

On the other side of the fence, Marcos Genteli Jungoy III finished with 10 points in a losing stand for the Vipers who snapped out of their two-game win streak.

In the other Elite Classic match-up, defending grandslam champions Convergys Converters swiftly recovered from their stunning 62-67 loss to Accenture last week with a 76-68 drubbing of the ePerformax Reds.

Lourenz Limpangog showed the way for Convergys with 18 points, eight rebounds and five steals. He was ably backed up by Jose Marie Siroy and Roderick Mangubat with 10 markers apiece.

The Reds dropped to 0-3 despite drawing a combined 48 points from Jan Pope Ravina, Robert Gilo and Nolan Dela Pena.

In the EVO League, Ralph  Belarmino and Ariel Ramonito Edera whipped up double-double figures in powering their respective teams to rousing victories.

Belarmino charted 17 points on top of a dozen rebounds and five steals as the Dreamscape Networks Lions eviscerated the Streamline Kangaroos, 87-54, while Edera dropped 15 markers spiked with 12 boards, three steals and two assists to rally the Kyocera Frontiers past the Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties, 72-62.

It was actually Jake Cainday who topscored for Dreamscape with 18 points and four rebounds, while Matthew Grafilo paced Kyocera with 21 points, six rebounds, four dimes and three steals.

Dreamscape and Kyocera thus created a three-way traffic atop the EVO leaderboard with the Optum Knights on identical 2-0 records. (FREEMAN)
