Glorietta Lariosa - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  Close to 3,000 runners are expected to participate in the first ever ‘Cancer Warriors Run’ on July 28 at the Cebu Business Park.

The race will feature 3-kilometer, 5K and 10K categories.

Organized by Rose Pharmacy, the run serves a major fund raising event for the Cancer Warriors Foundation Cebu Chapter, a non-government organization that helps poor and impoverished children with cancer.

These children coming from Cebu, Bohol, Surigao and Leyte will be provided with free medication.

“Rose Pharmacy has been very active as partners in several running events yet we haven’t able to hold our very own race,” said Rose Pharmacy Ads and Promo Executive Pearl. “This time as part of our health and wellness program and corporate social responsibility we have decided to hold our own run which is for the benefit of children with cancer. We decided to hold a run that serves as a fundraiser to help the organization because running is a creative way to raise funds for the foundation and it is something beneficial to health.”

A total of P30,000 cash prizes are at stake for the top performers in each division, while the first 100 finishers will get a specially-designed medal.

To highlight the actress Regine Tolentino and Camille Prats will be present as guests of honor.

Registration fee is pegged at P300 for 3K, P400 for 5K and P500 for 10K inclusive of singlet, race number and post-race refreshments. One may register at all branches of Rose Pharmacy.
