Yaw-Yan to hold free clinic for kids
CEBU, Philippines — Yaw-Yan ArDigma Martial Arts Federation of Master Benigno ‘Ekin’ R. Caniga Jr. will be conducting a free martial arts training in Barangay Day-as and its neighboring barangays.
In cooperation with Cebu City Sports Commission, Master Ekin said that the weekly training is part of the grassroots sports training program.
Master Ekin wants to shift the focus of kids from playing internet games and other vices to practicing martial arts.
"My program for sports is called ‘Barangay Grassroots Program: Iwas Droga sa Kabataan’, which will be implemented this year," said Master Ekin, who is also a newly-elected barangay councilor of Day-as. "We've come up with this program because we want to encourage kids to join martial arts and to keep them away from bad vices.”
The free sports training program will also cater participants from Day-as' neighboring barangays like Barangay Zapatera, Tejero, T. Padilla and Kamagayan.
Aside from teaching kids, Master Ekin together with Master Pedro ‘Junaz’ Azarcon is also giving free arnis trainings to barangay tanods of Day-as.
