CEBU, Philippines — Reigning North Division champions Consolacion Sarok Weavers eviscerated Danao City, 100-51, to complete a five-game elimination round sweep in the 2nd Cebu Governor's Cup 2018 Inter-Cities and Municipalities Under-21 Developmental Basketball Tournament at the Consolacion Sports Complex last Monday evening.

The top seed Sarok Weavers of coach Jun Pepito will be accompanied into the North Bracket 1 quarterfinals by their bitter rivals Mandaue City, which advanced with a 4-1 record capped by a 101-67 rout of Cordova.

Consolacion frolicked in the absence of Danao star players Rusty Aguilar and Ralph Laurence Nadela, who both served a one-game suspension after being ejected during their game versus Mandaue on Sunday night.

Froiland Maglasang and Marco Booker Panta came out firing from the start as Consolacion ripped the game apart at halftime, 51-31.

Jessie Bathan later joined the fray by dropping 16 of his 20 points in the final half  that catapulted Consolacion to a 49-point blowout of the hapless Danao side.

Maglasang finished with 17 points, Rey Gonzaga scored 18, Emmanuel Villamor nailed 11 markers, while Patrick Motano contributed 10 points to help Consolacion claim the North Bracket 1 title. Danao crashed out with a 3-2 card.

Alje Mendez, on the other hand, exploded for 33 points for Mandaue, which never looked back after jumping off  to a hot 30-16 start.

Paul John Sungahid added 14 points, while Nino Matthew Paras and Archie Buscay banged in 11 points each as Mandaue punched a ticket to the next round. (FREEMAN)
