Sogod cagers lose match for bringing wrong set of uniforms
CEBU, Philippines — They are primed to score their first victory right before their hometown fans.
What happened next went like a comical skit for Team Sogod.
In a match they are supposed to host – and most probably win against a lightweight foe, Sogod lost by forfeiture to Tudela for bringing a wrong set of uniforms in the 2nd Cebu Governor's Cup 2018 Inter-Cities and Municipalities Under-21 Developmental Basketball Tournament last Saturday night at the Sogod municipal gym.
It was Sogod’s second setback in as many starts, while Tudela, coming off a humiliating 60-point defeat to San Francisco in a battle of Camotes Island teams, snapped out of their two-game slide without breaking a sweat.
In the other North Division Bracket 2 game, Poro picked up its second win at the expense of Catmon, 83-76.
Rod Ryan Digal and Mhar Nino Florentino showed the way for Poro with 48 combined points. Jhom Jake Lucernas was the other double-digit scorer for Poro with 11 markers.
Don Kobe Bryll Cole paced Catmon with 11 points, while Jose Jade Amaga and Ronel Sumalinog chipped in 10 points each in a losing cause. (FREEMAN)
