All set for Sunsport Basketball’s advanced skills training camp

CEBU, Philippines — It's all systems go for the advanced skills training of Sunsport Basketball starting on May 22 at the Sacred Heart Center Sports Club.

The comprehensive four-day training will be handled by US-based Cebuano skills trainer and coach Jeff Codera.

The Tabok, Mandaue City-native Codera is a member of the Golden State Warriors’ training camp in the NBA. He is also a licensed ‘Gold’ coach of USA Basketball under its Youth Development Program.

The 34-year-old Codera has trained various national players including Adrian Zamora of Mexico, Jeff Chan of Gillas Pilipinas, and Reggie Hearn of the United States, who went on to play for the Detroit Pistons alongside NBA superstar Blake Griffin.

For his upcoming Sunsport camp, Codera has prepared a specialized training module for the participants with emphasis on the technical aspect of playing hoops.

Codera will take up plyometric basketball drills, advance shooting drills, ball control drills, separation drills, accurate attack drills, and safety movement drills.

Codera will also teach the students on how to develop their weaknesses and to properly react on certain game situations

Registration fee is pegged at P2,500 inclusive of a training jersey, Sunsport heavy training ball and handouts.
