Enrollment now open for Sirlitz basketball camp

CEBU, Philippines — The enrollment is now open for the 18th edition of the Sirlitz One On One Basketball Training Camp, one of the longest-running cage clinics in this side of the country, set to kick off on April 8 at the Yati Elementary School gym in Liloan, Cebu.

Open to aspiring hoopsters aged 18 years old and below, the Sirlitz camp takes pride for UAAP star Paul Desiderio of the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons among its brightest products.

"I'm proud to say that Paul (Desiderio) laid the foundation of his basketball skills with us," said Sirlitz training director and veteran coach Edsel Say Vallena. "As his personal trainer and mentor before, I'm happy for what he has achieved right now. He's always been the role model and the face of our annual summer clinic."

Vallena, who specializes on the US and Korean scientific style of playing hoops, said that aside from the fundamentals of the sport like proper dribbling, shooting, passing and footwork, they will also be teaching their students team and individual defense and one on one offensive drills.

"For nearly two decades now, our camp has established a name because it is result-oriented, and the parents get their money's worth," said Vallena. "That is because we always put premium on our training and make sure that the skills level of all the participants will go a notch higher after going through our camp."

The training session is set from 8 a.m. to 12 noon (two hours for every age-group) from Monday to Saturday.

Entry fee includes a reversible jersey. For registration and information, interested parties may contact 0906-4683775 or 0943-6068834.  (EBV)
