Enriquez wins March title in CEPCA monthly
CEBU, Philippines — Three-time grand champion Rogelio Enriquez, Jr. topped the March edition of the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (CEPCA) monthly tournament at the J Centre Mall in Mandaue City.
Enriquez completed the six-round Swiss system competition with an unblemished 6-0 record to claim the P2,000 prize. He also joined early qualifiers Eduard de la Torre and Mario Bustillo to the grand finals also known as the 'Battle of Champions' this December.
National Master Arnold Cadiz finished second with 5.0 points followed by Rey Flores with 4.5 points.
Adrian Basilgo and Zilverstein Torres were at joint fourth and fifth spots with 4.0 points each.
Meanwhile, CEPCA under the dynamic leadership of Engr. Jerry Maratas has welcomed with open arms the club's new members Neil Amores and Michael Calimlim, who are both computer engineers.— EBV
