Cebu Pink Paddlers to join ‘Paddle for Womanity’

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu Pink Paddlers are set to compete in the first all-women dragon boat race dubbed as  “Paddle for Womanity” tomorrow in Tambobo Bay, in Siaton, Negros Oriental.

The pink paddlers, who are composed of breast cancer survivors, will compete in the 300-meter women small boat race.

“The ladies have intensive land training with the guidance of our sports doctor headed by Dr. Rhoel Dejaño, Dr. Byron Garcia, Dr. Diana Nebria and Billy Remedio. We also had our pool training and boat training,” Cebu Pink Paddlers head coach Christian Ian Sy said.

The Paddle for Womanity is in line with the celebration of the Women’s Month. It is participated by all women dragon boat team all over the country.

Aside from the trophy and medal, the champion team will receive P20,000 while the second and third place winners will take home P15,000 and P10,000, respectively.
