Bosconians sweep 3 titles in 15th Thirsty footballfest
CEBU, Philippines — Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) swept the first three titles in the 15th Thirsty Football Festival on Friday night at the Cebu City Sports Center.
The Bosconians ruled the boys Under 19, mixed open and the 38-above divisions.
Glenn Thomas 'Tom-Tom' Ramos showed that he is a big boy now as even without his dad and coach Glenn Ramos, who is in Tagbilaran City for the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) Meet, he still managed to carry his team on his shoulders from the start until the end.
They beat Giuseppe in the final, 2-0, to snare the boys Under 19 crown. Ramos went on to claim the MVP award.
In the mixed open, the Don Bosco Alumni edged PSU via penalty shootout, 3-2, to lift the champion's trophy. Mae Ann Soliano bested a host of male players to win the MVP honors.
It was a golden double for the DB Alumni booters as they also lorded it over in the men's 38-above class after defeating Waray FC, 1-0. (FREEMAN)
