Kids Hope Foundation organizes charity race
CEBU, Philippines — Seeing running as a way to help poor children with special needs, the Kids Hope Foundation will stage the ‘Hope Run’ on December 10 at the Pescadores Road in Cebu Business Park.
The race, which features the 1.5-kilometer, 3K, 5K, 10K and 12K, is a fund-raising event for the benefit of 50 children with special needs coming from indigent families in Cebu.
“This is our first time in Cebu and we already finished one in Manila. We are so grateful that we are able to stage it here because our main goal is to extend our help to kids who have special needs,” said Aileen Ang, Kids Hope Foundation founder.
“We already have 50 children beneficiaries from Manila and we want to add another 50 from Cebu,” added Ang who is expecting close to 3,000 runners to participate.
Special prizes and medals await the top finishers in each category, while all 10K and 21K finishers will receive a shirt and a specially-designed medal.
Registration fee is pegged at P600 for the 1.5K, P700 for 3K and 5K, P1, 000 for 10K and P1, 200 for the 21K. One may register at Kidzoona branches in SM Seaside City, SM Consolacion and Robinsons Galleria, RUNNR in Ayala Center Cebu and Toby’s Sports in SM City Cebu. (FREEMAN)
