Overlimit dominates Dumau International Open

CEBU, Philippines - Overlimit Jiu jitsu Academy dominated the recently concluded Dumau Jiu jitsu International Open the other day at the Trade Hall of SM City Cebu.

Brazilian black belt Leandro Kussano led Overlimit’s charge after winning the gold in the masters’ medium heavy division, while Japanese blue belt Matheus Onda reigned supreme in the featherweight class.

Cebuano fighters from Overlimit also ruled their respective divisions as white belt  featherweight Andrei Cuizon snared the gold medal against Deftac Ribeiro’s Josephus Guadez who settled for silver, while blue belter Jason Mondigo took home the title in the masters’ light featherweight class against Arnel Ylanan of 90/Eight BJJ and Patrick Cuizon of Deftac.

White belter Gian Sebastian Lucero also snared the gold in the rooster weight class after beating Deftac Ribeiro’s Lemuel Maglinte, while his teammate Paul Christian Hubahib settled for the bronze medal.

Other gold medalists for Overlimit were Luiz Takayama (lightweight), Robert Andrade (open weight), Mofa Sua (featherweight), Luana Diaz (light featherweight) and Ingrid Franco (female open weight).

Deftac Ribeiro, for their part, got golds from purple belters Hiroshi Hirazawa (medium heavy) and Enrique Jingco (open weight).

Maria Aisa Ratcliff delivered a double gold in the female light featherweight and open weight, Gian Carlo Palatulon topped the middleweight, while Sandino Cinco and Guadez lorded it over at the light featherweight and masters’ open weight, respectively. (LPM)(FREEMAN)
