CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu South Bus Terminal has earned P756,000 during this year’s Holy Week.

The income this year has an increase of P16,450 as compared to the P739, 550 earning in last year’s Lenten season.

CSBT opration manager Jonathan “Joy”Tumulak said they are expecting that every year the influx of the passengers to the terminal will increase, thus, the number of bus trips will also increase.

Based on CSBT’s data, 422,460 passengers flocked to the terminal during the Holy Week this year, an increase of 10,680 from last year’s 411,780 passengers.

Based on the data, the highest number of passenger influx was on recorded during Easter Sunday, April 21. The passengers on this day reached to 67, 920.

On April 17, Holy Wednesday, the number of passengers reached to 67,140. During that day, some companies and agencies and local government units have declared a half-day work and so the influx was expected already.

CSBT records show that the terminal has earned at least P100,000 every day as the Lenten season starts. On Holy Monday the income of the terminal has reached P104,050; Holy Tuesday, P106,350; Holy Wednesday, P124,350; Maundy Thursday, P121,350; Good Friday, P64,300; Black Saturday, P114,350 and Easter Sunday, P121,250.
