LTO-7 opens second offsite printing office

CEBU, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office in Central Visayas has started opening its second temporary offsite printing office in Lapu-Lapu City yesterday.

LTO-7 Director Victor Caindec said it was just a soft opening to test whether the equipment are working. He said the formal launching will be done today.

The second offsite printing office is located at the Island Central Mall.

"Ganiha soft launching lang gyud to kay mura og dry run ba pero naa pud mga clients nangadto. Maybe mga 40 drivers’ licenses nga backlog lang ang na isyu,"  Caindec said.

Caindec said the new offsite printing office has a capacity to issue more than 300 licenses per day. But because of limited internet connection, it is only issuing 200 licenses every day.

"Limited man ang atong internet connection, mao na nga limited ra pud ang atong ma printa," Caindec explained.

Caindec clarified that the temporary offsite printing office is only intended for printing backlog applications of driver's license.

"This is not intended for renewal of driver's license ug sa new applicants kay gihimo ni nato para makuhaan gyud ang backlog sa mga driver's license in Region 7," Caindec said.

The other offsite printing office is located at SM Seaside City in Cebu City.

Task Forces

Meanwhile, the newly renovated offices for Task Force Malasakit and Task Force Kontra Drogas in Lapu-Lapu City were also launched yesterday. The launching was led by Mayor Paz Radaza.

Radaza said the new offices will help bring in real change for the people of the city. She said the renovation of the new offices was done in response to the need of the people.

Radaza said the Task Force Malasakit will facilitate and assist in the rescue of women and children violating the curfew ordinance and other laws.

It is composed of the police, local personnel, and Department of Social Welfare and Development.

The members of the task force will conduct regular inspections in internet cafes, karaoke bars, and other establishments.

On the other hand, Task Force Kontra Drogas will help in the government’s fight against illegal drugs.

It is tasked to formulate plans, implement, and monitor the anti-drug abuse program of the city.
