Suan inaugurates port food plaza

CEBU, Philippines — Cordova Mayor Cesar “Didoy” Suan recently inaugurated the Roro Port Food Plaza, a vibrant seaside dining hub designed to offer Cordovahanons and visiting Cebuanos a relaxing culinary experience.
Situated within the Roro Port, the plaza hosts a diverse array of local food vendors, serving as a key initiative to boost tourism and empower small businesses in the town.
In his speech, Mayor Suan underscored the importance of cleanliness and environmental responsibility, urging vendors to maintain a sustainable and visitor-friendly atmosphere.
"This is more than just a place to eat—it’s a step toward making Cordova a prime destination," Mayor Suan declared.
Vendors will initially be allowed to operate for at least six months, with the possibility of extending their stay up to two years, depending on ongoing developments in the area.
Enhancing the town’s tourism prospects, preparations are underway to upgrade the road leading to the Roro terminal, aiming to accommodate international cruise ships, a major project poised to significantly boost tourist arrivals in Cordova and beyond.
In a move welcomed by local entrepreneurs, Mayor Suan also announced that all food vendors at the port would receive free business permits, a gesture met with enthusiastic applause from the vendor organization overseeing the area.
