Diamante leads PCG Auxiliary promotion rites
CEBU, Philippines — Tuburan Mayor Aljun Diamante, who also serves as the Auxiliary Commodore of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary, led the 218th Officers Promotion and Donning of Ranks in a recent ceremony.
Diamante shared that since 2023, he has administered the oath of 59 Tuburan residents joining the Coast Guard Auxiliary, believing their involvement strengthens disaster response efforts.
On April 11, 2025, ten municipal government employees from Tuburan received promotions, advancing one rank higher within the organization.
Joining Diamante at the event were Auxiliary Rear Admiral Manolita Faelnar, director of the Auxiliary District, and Captain Adonis Añasco, deputy commander of the Coast Guard District Central Visayas.
Auxiliary Commander Rosario Canillo, deputy DAS for Operations of the 218th PCGA Squadron, emphasized that the donning and awarding ceremony is not merely a formal event—it stands as a testament to the unwavering dedication of volunteers who selflessly serve their communities.
“PCGA thrives on the spirit of volunteerism,” Canillo stated. “Our members, driven by a shared sense of duty, contribute their time and skills to support maritime safety, environmental protection, and community outreach. Their efforts embody the essence of civic responsibility and national pride.”
He also acknowledged Mayor Diamante’s presence, highlighting how his dual role exemplifies the synergy between local governance and volunteer service.
“Mayor Diamante’s leadership and support have been instrumental in advancing the mission of the PCGA within the region,” Canillo added. — (FREEMAN)
