CEBU, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Cebu welcomed officers of Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), along with AboitizPower representatives during a courtesy meeting recently with BOC Cebu District Collector Felipe Geoffrey de Vera.

The meeting was meant to highlight the shared commitment of the BOC-Port of Cebu and the business community in fostering collaboration, innovation, and efficiency in trade facilitation and port operations.

The CCCI delegation led by President Jay Yuvallos included trustees Karl de Pio, Francis Dy, and Bernard Chioson, and executive director Joy Segismar, joined the AboitizPower representatives led by Anthony Noel and Anton Percides, in productive discussions with the De Vera.

According to BOC-Port of Cebu in a Facebook post, their dialogue focused on key areas vital to Cebu’s economic growth, including simplifying Customs processes, expediting cargo clearance, and addressing operational challenges to improve trade efficiency.

De Vera said that the bureau remains steadfast in its mission to facilitate seamless trade and foster economic growth. He said this engagement underscores the importance of collaboration with their partners in the private sector to achieve operational excellence and support Cebu’s thriving economy.

Yuvallos said that the meeting reflects a promising partnership that not only supports business growth but also ensures that Cebu remains competitive as an economic hub.

“The CCCI looks forward to continued collaboration with the Port of Cebu,” Yuvallos added. — (FREEMAN)
