Province allows DOE to use Capitol lot
CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu provincial government is allowing the Department of Energy (DOE) to use its lot in Barangay Sudlon, Cebu City.
Governor Gwendolyn Garcia has been given an authority by the Cebu Provincial Board to enter a deed of usufruct with DOE for the use of the lot.
The Capitol has a 1,504 square-meter lot, which is part of the Lot 1060 Banilad Estate in Do a Modesta Gaisano St., Barangay Sudlon, under the name of the Cebu Province.
DOE wrote a letter to the Capitol in December 2023 informing the Province that it needs a lot area for its new site for its next office.
"There is a need to authorize Honorable Gwendolyn F. Garcia, Governor of Cebu, to sign for and in behalf of the Province of Cebu the deed of usufruct," Third District PB Member Jimbo Borgonia said in his resolution that was passed during the PB's regular session on Monday.
The Capitol agreed to allow the DOE to use its vacant lot in Sudlon for 25 years, which is renewable for another 25 years, depending on the owner's decision. - JG (CEBU NEWS)
