PRO-7 nabs 576 wanted persons in January
CEBU, Philippines — The Police Regional Office (PRO) 7, in coordination with its various police units, has successfully apprehended a total of 576 wanted individuals in a period of one month.
According to the PRO 7 record, out of the 576 arrested persons, 74 are categorized as most wanted persons (MWP), while the remaining 502 are under the classification of other wanted persons (OWP).
“These arrests were documented from Jan. 1 to Jan. 31, 2025, showcasing the proactive measures taken by police tracker teams who worked diligently to bring these individuals to justice,” the PRO 7 report said.
The regional police said that this extensive operation underscored its commitment to enhance public safety and significantly reduce crime rates in the Central Visayas region.
Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan, PRO 7 director, in a statement said that this crackdown is reflective of the diligent and strategic operations employed by law enforcers.
Maranan said that by utilizing intelligence-led policing methods, they were able to effectively identify and locate suspects. He said this is a clear and resolute message that criminal activity will not be tolerated in the region.
