CEBU, Philippines — Four Persons with Disabilities (PWD) from Argao town were among the recipients of assistive devices distributed by the Cebu provincial government during the second round of the Capitol’s Caravan of Services for the second district.

The recipients were Jackelyn Geralde from Barangay Langtad, who received an adult wheelchair for her stroke condition; Myrna Artiaga from Barangay Taloot, who received a quad cane for her orthopaedic condition; Crisanto Flores from Sumaguan, who received a white cane for his visual impairment; and Jillian Pescadero from Barangay Taloot, who received a pediatric wheelchair for her epilepsy.

Governor Gwendolyn Garcia along with Argao Mayor Allan Sesaldo, Argao Vice Mayor Orvi Ortega and other members of the Argao LGU personally assisted the beneficiaries.

“Once again, the town of Argao expresses its gratitude to the beloved Governor of Cebu, Gov. Gwen Garcia, for this significant program,” the LGU Argao’s post on Facebook reads.

On the other hand, the town also received a total of P2.6 million budget for infrastructure projects from the P17.6 million aid for the seven LGUs of the Second District last June 15.

The Provincial Government allocated P2 million for infrastructure projects in Argao along with other towns of the district--Dalaguete, Alcoy, Samboan, Boljoon, Oslob, and Santander.

Meanwhile, a P3.6 million budget was intended for the district’s 18 barangays.

In Argao, Barangays Gutlang, Poblacion, and Tabayag received P200,000 each for their respective infrastructure developments.

Three barangays from Dalaguete, Alcoy, Boljoon, Oslob, and Santander also received each of the same amount from the Capitol. — (FREEMAN)
