Rep. Rama eager for Tatak Pinoy opportunities for local industries
CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City South Representative Edu Rama expects the Tatak Pinoy Act to serve as a catalyst for promoting local products on a global scale.
This came following the signing of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. into law Republic Act 11981 or the Tatak Pinoy Act last February 26, 2024.
The Tatak Pinoy (Proudly Pinoy) Act which Rep. Rama also co-authored, is an initiative, which seeks to apply a “whole of government” approach to empowering and further developing local industries.
This is also expected to honor the craftsmanship and dedication of our producers and artisans, who deliver internationally-renowned products including those from Cebu.
“As a co-author of this act, we are grateful that the Marcos Administration places a focus on investing in our local industries, underscoring their value in promoting Filipino culture and bolstering economic growth through production and promotion of high quality goods and services,” said Rep. Rama in a statement.
Further, Rama said Cebuanos have every reason to celebrate this legislation, as it will serve as a tool for promoting products on a global scale.
“With our premier tourist destinations, Cebu is poised to showcase “Proudly Pinoy” goods and services that can compete in the international market," added Rama.
He also envisions the Tatak Pinoy Strategy that will be facilitated by its council, to greatly benefit Cebu, its tourism sector, its products, and its services. (CEBU NEWS)
