City cops hunting for gun-for-hire persons

CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) is hunting those responsible for the shooting incidents in the city for them to be arrested and charged.

On Saturday night, the City Intelligence Unit of the CCPO arrested John Bryan Fernandez in a buy-bust operation.

He was identified as a noted hitman and said to be connected to a well-known drug lord.

According to CCPO director, Police Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, Fernandez admitted that he was involved in three shooting incidents in Cebu City.

The incidents happened in March in Barangay Inayawan and in April in Barangay Suba. The last one was in Barangay Carreta where the victim was a woman.

Apart from Fernandez, the city police are also tracking down someone else who is said to be responsible for several shooting incidents in the city.

“Naa tay mga target personalities mao ni sila atong gitutukan karon nga ato ni silang madakpan,” said Dalogdog. — (FREEMAN)
