LGBTQ member molested, sex video goes viral

Robhe Jane C. Yara - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  A member of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or questioning persons (LGBTQ) community was allegedly sexually molested by a group of three men while attending a dance party in Olango Island in Lapu-Lapu City.

Police Major Felix Cleopas, the chief of Olango Police Station, said on Monday that the victim's stepmother sought help and reported the incident around the second week of January after receiving a copy of his stepson's alleged "sex video."

The video containing obscene acts was said to have circulated through transfer using some media devices until one of the victim's relatives received a copy of it and reported it to his stepmother.

Based on the police's initial investigation, the victim attended a benefit dance on December 30, 2022. The alleged sexual act came right when the victim went drunk, and the suspects took advantage of the situation and molested him.

Cleopas said that based on one witness, the drunk victim was brought by the suspects to lie down on a bamboo bed where he was sexually assaulted by force.

The witness positively identified the three suspects as Louejhon Salinguhay Daño, Nickjun B. Amit, and Rolly Duallo, all of legal ages, who were residents of Barangay Talima in Olango Island.

Cleopas said the suspects remained at-large at the time, but they had already obtained relevant information of their whereabouts through the course of their initial investigation.

Meanwhile, the victim, who was traumatized by what happened, underwent a psychological examination.

Cleopas stated that the victim's foster parents are scheduled to visit the Olango Police Station by Monday afternoon to lodge a formal complaint about the incident.

They would also check the result of the psychological examination, which was scheduled to be released anytime on Monday.

He said they would target to talk to the victim again to shed light on what happened and provide him justice, considering he is also an individual with special needs. — GMR (FREEMAN)
