14 nabbed, P9.5 million drugs seized in 1 day operations

CEBU, Philippines —  A total of 14 persons were arrested and around P9.5 million worth of illegal drugs and firearms were seized in a police operation in Cebu on Saturday, August 13.

Consisting of the operation are buy-bust for illegal drugs, arrest warrants of wanted individuals, and search warrants for illegal possession of firearms.

The buy-bust operations resulted in the confiscation of around 1.4 kilograms of suspected shabu with a standard drug price (SDP) value of P9.5 million worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of three suspects, including top priority suspect.

Raffy Chavez Hermona, 35, male, and a resident of Negros Occidental was arrested in Toledo City with 1.171 kilogram suspected illegal drugs with a SDP of around P7.5 million.

Amstel Manubag Sere alias Tino, 20, male, was arrested in Ermita, Cebu City with at least 65 grams of illegal drugs amounting to at least P442,000.

In another buy-bust operation, John Gerard Barrida Ventura, 33, male, and a resident of Barangay Luz, Cebu City, was arrested in the same place with at least 155 grams of crystalline substance believed to be shabu with a SDP of at least P1 million.

During the arrest warrant operations led by deputy chief of police, Police Lieutenant Amory Napoles, under the supervision of the chief of police, Police Lieutenant Colonel Dennis C. De Guzman, 10 individuals were arrested on the same day.

The top 3 station level most wanted person, Jaypher Manguray Villarmea, 21, male, was arrested for violation of Sec. 5, Art. II of R.A 9165 and top 7 station level most wanted person Cesarima Pañares Lacida, 30, female, was arrested for violation of Sec. 11, Art. II of R.A 9165 issued and signed by Judge Judilyn Hugo Tapia-Menchaves at Toledo City.

Michael Barabat Salazar, 30, male, and a resident of Brgy. Luray II, Toledo City, was arrested for estafa through falsification of commercial documents issued and signed by Judge Jose Lindo U. Belarmino at Toledo City.

Junmel Baracon Opinggo, 26, male, a resident of Brgy. Luray II, Toledo City, was arrested for robbery by the use of force upon things issued and signed by Tapia-Mechaves.

Eric Abasa Contiveros, 29, male and a resident of Barangay Subayon, Toledo City, was arrested for the crime of rape in relation to R.A. 7610 issued and signed by Tapia-Mechaves.

Jocelyn Argawanon Ambayic, 37, female and a resident of Sitio Mahayahay, Brgy. Daanlungsod, Toledo City, was arrested for grave threats issued and signed by Judge Mary Jocelyn G. Regencia at Toledo City.

Ananias Tabriga Aplece, 49, male and a resident of Brgy. Bunga, Toledo City, was arrested for acts of lasciviousness issued and signed by Judge Ruben F. Altubar at Toledo City.

Ariel Mangubat Bariquit, 36, male and a resident of Bryg. Poog, Toledo City, was arrested for violation of PD 1602 as amended by R.A. 928 issued and signed by Altubar.

Felix Yunson Padanon, Jr., 37, male and a resident of Brgy. Daanlungsod, Toledo City, was arrested for grave threats issued and signed by Regencia.

Rochelle Banguiran Requiron, 35, female and resident of Sitio Banay Panagdait, Brgy. DAS, Toledo City, was arrested for violation of Sec. 10 (A) of R.A 7610 issued and signed by Tapia-Menchaves.

In the operation in Toledo City against illegal possession of firearms, one person was arrested and various firearms such as shotgun, 9mm Norinco pistol, caliber 38 revolver and caliber 45 pistol with assorted live ammunition were seized.

The subject of the search warrant, Winceslao Ebcay Estrella, 49, male, was a security guard and a resident of Purok 7, Lawis, Barangay Daanlungsod, Toledo City.
