Over 4,000 law enforcers to secure Pasigarbo sa Sugbo

CEBU, Philippines — Over 4,000 personnel from the different law enforcement agencies will be deployed during the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo.

Personnel from the Philippine National Police, the Philippine Army, Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Cebu City Traffic Management Office, emergency response team, among others, will be the one to secure the venue from the first day of rehearsals to the staging of the festival queen competition, street dancing and on to the main event and awarding at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).

The Philippine Coast Guard Central Visayas will also contribute to the event by ferrying four contingents from Camotes island and three contingents from Bantayan island, according to Sugbo News, the Capitol’s news portal.

“Salamat gyud kaayo. Dako kaayo ning tabang kay mahal baya ang ro-ro (roll on, roll off service),” Garcia said.

On August 11, Garcia met with the stakeholders for the said event to discuss the development and preparations for the Pasigarbo.

Visayan Electric assured the Capitol that there will be uninterrupted electric power supply during the event.

There are 50 contingents from the different towns and cities who will participate in this year’s Pasigarbo sa Sugbo after a two year hiatus due to COVID-19 pandemic. —GMR (FREEMAN)
