CEBU, Philippines —  A group of doctors is offering free online consultations for the Cebuanos, especially those afflicted with COVID-19.

The Doctors for a Better Cebu, Ace Doctors on Facebook, has started their online consultation yesterday, January 12, for both adults and children. They are supporters of former tourism secretary Joseph “Ace” Durano.

“We prioritize patients who have COVID-19 symptoms,” the group said in their Facebook post adding that they are not a 24/7 teleconsultation as they are still short of manpower.

“But rest assured, we will try to serve you as promptly as we can,” it said.

The group started their consultations yesterday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Two more sessions were done from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Today, the group will accept consultations for both adults and children from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. For January 14, adult and pedia consultations will be from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., while sessions for adults will be at 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.  On Sunday, there will be one session for adults from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The free online consultation by the Ace Doctors will run until February 15, 2022.

The schedules will change every week and will be posted both on the page of the Ace doctors and the official page of Durano.

Durano said he is very thankful for the volunteer doctors for helping out.

“Dako kaayo akong pasalamat sa sakripisyo sa mga kaigsuonan natong mga doktors para sa mga Cebuano. Karong panahona nga garecover pa ta sa Odette ug lisud ang pagbyahe para magpakonsulta, kaning libreng online consultation dako na kaayo ni nga tabang para sa atong mga igsuon," Durano said in a statement.--  FPL (FREEMAN)
