PBB limits vaccination initiative to companies within Metro Cebu

CEBU, Philippines — The Project Balik Buhay’s registration has officially closed on July 31, 2021 as their registration and support teams are reviewing and assessing all applications received on the said date.

PBB earlier announced that in compliance with the new directive coming from the Department of Health and the National Task Force, they have been instructed to facilitate vaccinations exclusively only for companies and organizations located in the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, Talisay and Naga including the towns of Consolacion and Minglanilla.

PBB had said that all applications from companies and organizations located outside the above-mentioned Metro Cebu LGUs whose employees/members have not yet been vaccinated by PBB will be endorsed and referred to their respective LGUs and Local City Health Department.

The PPB vaccination initiative is part of the national government vaccination program for the employed/corporate sector in Cebu. It is also an augmentation of the local government unit’s community vaccination program.

PBB is a public-private partnership upon the request of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas, IATF-Visayas and DOH-7 to help augment the capacity of the government vaccination centers.

As of July 30, 2021, a total of 722,136 vaccine doses have been administered across all public and private sector private vaccination centers in Cebu.

Of the said figure, 467,025 and 255,111 were vaccinated for the first and second dose, respectively.

Per local government units, Cebu Province has a total of 217,687 individuals vaccinated; Cebu City has 259,703; Mandaue City has 151,757; and Lapu-Lapu City has 92,989. — GMR (FREEMAN)
