CEBU, Philippines —  At least two private hospitals in Cebu City have now reached their full capacity, four at high risk and two at moderate risk as far as the critical care utilization rate (CCUR) for COVID-19 is concerned.

CCUR is the ratio of beds occupied to the total beds devoted for COVID-19 patients.

Based on the Department of Health’s tracker, Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital and the North General Hospital are now both operating at 100% capacity.

At a high risk level, on the other hand, are St. Anthony Mother and Child Hospital at 78.7%, Adventist Hospital at 76.9%, St. Vincent Hospital at 89.3%, and the Visayas Community Hospital at 78.9%.

At a moderate risk level are Cebu City Medical Center at 66.1% and Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center at 64.2%. The rest of the 15 facilities in the city are still at a low-risk level.

As far as ICU beds are concerned, VCMMC is now 72.41% full, Velez is 66.67% full, Chong Hua is 53.33% full, Perpetual Succour Hospital is 90%, and Visayas Community Medical Center is 100% full.

Cebu City’s active cases are currently at 2,688 based on the DOH-7 bulletin.

Lapu-Lapu City has 1,130, Mandaue has 961, and Cebu province has 2,797.

Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, and Cebu Province each had six deaths noted on July 31.

Meanwhile, Negros Oriental’s active cases have decreased to 1,059. Bohol has 1,748 active cases and Siquijor has 29 active cases. — JMD (FREEMAN)
