Floods affect at least 1 thousand families in Talisay
According to CDRRMO, the most affected barangays were San Isidro with 357 families evacuated; Lawaan III (245 families); Tabunok (119 families); Dumlog (107 families); Lawaan II (76 families); Lagtang (74 families); and Biasong (30 families).

CEBU, Philippines — At least 1,154 families from seven barangays in Talisay City were affected by floods over the weekend following several hours of heavy downpour that caused the Mananga River to overflow.

City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) reported to have evacuated a total of 4,887 individuals.

According to CDRRMO, the most affected barangays were San Isidro with 357 families evacuated; Lawaan III (245 families); Tabunok (119 families); Dumlog (107 families); Lawaan II (76 families); Lagtang (74 families); and Biasong (30 families).

Personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) were also sent to the evacuation sites to assist the evacuees.

CDRRMO head Alvin Santillana said he will recommend permanent relocation of the affected families because their areas are no longer safe.
