CEBU, Philippines —  At least seven persons were injured after the sedan car they were riding lost control while maneuvering a blind curve in Sitio Tumandoc, Barangay Legaspi, Alegria town, Cebu on Wednesday morning.

The vehicle hit the road railings before ending up in the beach.

Police identified the driver as Jaime Ferrer Jr., 41, single, from Barangay Bonbon, Samboan town.

Ferrer and six others, including some minors, suffered injuries because of the accident.

According to Police Corporal Raymond Obiasada, desk officer of Alegria Police Station, the car was heading Samboan from Moalboal.

Obiasada said the car reportedly lost control upon reaching the blind curve, causing it to swerve off the road, hit the railings and fall into the sea.

Personnel from Alegria’s disaster office responded to the scene and brought the victims to a hospital in Malabuyoc town.

Obiasada said all passengers were already out of harm’s way, although they sustained minor injuries.

Obiasada described the incident as an accident since, according to him, the car did not figure with any other vehicle on the road. — JMD (FREEMAN)
