NAPOLCOM inspects CCPO stations, units

CEBU, Philippines —  The National Police Commission has started Monday the series of visitations to police stations and units of Cebu City Police Office.

This aims to communicate with the officers and personnel on the factors that need to be addressed.

NAPOLCOM-7 regional director Jose S. Concepcion said that the rationale of their inspection is to see how the police stations and units are implementing the existing policies of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

"So we want to know if the policies, kung na implement ba na down to the lowest unit and then I would like also to know kung unsay mga problema sa mga stations, so that we could come up with policy," said Concepcion.

Concepcion further said it will also radiate good services to the public.

Among those that were being discussed was the way of grading the PNP personnel's performance that includes their administrative capabilities and their operations.

"Including their facilities, kay usahay atong mga stations walay kuan (taken care of), diha bitaw sa atong municipal police stations luoy kaayo ang mga police may usa ra ka kwarto," said Concepcion.

In Cebu City, however, Concepcion said they are in good hands since they were provided by donors aside from the budget given by the headquarters.

Just last month, the NAPOLCOM-7 has inspected the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) wherein additional personnel have been observed to be much needed in the office.

"Kay karon walay recruitment kay niminus man ang eligibles tungod kay wala mi kahatag og examination tungod sa pandemic, ug mag-recruitment gani dili ma-fill tanan nga needs," said Concepcion.

As every year the population has been increasing, the ratio of the cops they need also increase, accordingly.

For his part, Police Colonel Josefino Ligan, CCPO director, said they are ready for the inspection since last week along with the police stations.

"I'm just happy to report that we are very glad that here in Cebu City, during the entrance briefing that Cebu City last year has ranked second, so we are hoping by this year, we will be on top, that's why we have intense preparation," said Ligan.

Ligan also added that the new building inside the CCPO camp has added the factor as they are now more equipped for their service provisions. — GMR (FREEMAN)
