CEBU, Philippines —  A partner merchant of the Cebu provincial government for its Sugbo Negosyo program has been blacklisted for violating the memorandum of agreement (MOA) entered into.

Capitol's news arm, Sugbo News, reported that this supplier has been attending trainings and convinced people to change the needed supplies of the beneficiaries that will fit on their available supply.

“Ipausab sa ilang original needs list aron moangkop sa ilang available supply. Hassler-type ba, ilang gi-twist atong rules to their end,” Governor Gwendolyn Garcia said.

“Ni-ride on sila, gigamit ang Sugbo Negosyo para sa ilang kaugalingong networking. Unya gipang-convince ning atong mga beneficiaries to shift,” she furthered.

The Capitol did not name the merchant but had already warned the beneficiaries through a text message that the supplier has been blacklisted

“It’s important nga tanang beneficiaries are already aware nga blacklisted na ni and no transaction will be honored. If date from notice naa pay beneficiary nga mokuha, we will also delist that beneficiary, tangtangon nana,” Garcia stated in the report.

Sugbo Negosyo program is a program by the Cebu provincial government that gives assistance to micro small medium entrepreneurs including those starting business after being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

At least 8,250 Cebuano micro-entrepreneurs were able to qualify to the said micro-assistance program of the Capitol.

They were given coupons that will be used to purchase their needed materials to the partner merchants by the Capitol for their businesses.

The beneficiaries are given until the end of the month to purchase their needed supplies through their coupon. — GMR (FREEMAN)
