For Cebu City jail: ‘Dunol’ of gifts for PDLs begins
CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City Councilor David Tumulak has reminded the families of the persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the city jail that the “dunol” will start today.
“Ang mga pamilya makadunol sa mga pinaskuhan ngadto sa mga piniriso,” said Tumulak.
The activity will be held at the Fuente Osmeña Oval from December 29 to 31, 2020, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Tumulak said the “No ID, No Quarantine Pass, No Entry” rule will be strictly enforced.
He added those 65 years old above and 15 years old below will not be allowed to send the Christmas gifts for the PDLs at the area.
“Og mahimo, dili magda og bata para dali ra kaayo ang pagpasud... Awhag sad ta sa mga pamilya nga motuman lang pud sila sa maong mga patakaran,” said Tumulak.
Tumulak said the PROBE team, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, police, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology have already coordinated to ensure that the minimum health protocols will be followed, especially social and physical distancing.
He also assured that the gifts will be inspected at the Fuente Osmeña rotunda before being brought to the city jail.
“Rest assured nga naa ma’y PDEA ugmang aldawa. Naa sa’y mga sniffing dog nga dad-on para pagsiguro nga wa gyu’y mga kontrabando nga masud na iapil unya sa paghatod sa pinaskuhan sa mga PDL,” said Tumulak.
He said there will be 10 frisking areas so that the process will be fast.
Tumulak said there is a possibility that the “dunol” will be extended depending on the situation.
“Og tan-aw nato na daghan pa gyud, that’s the time na mo-decide ta atong i-extend,” said Tumulak. — JMD (FREEMAN)
