CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella has met Friday with City Fire Marshal, Chief Inspector Josephus Alburo, to discuss matters involving fire safety.

Alburo said they also discussed the plan to set up the Cebu City Fire Office Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
“In the BFP we have trained paramedics, we will set up sa Cebu North ambulance service which is free, we have trained personnel nga naa diha, so 24/7. In the few months we will activate that once mahuman na namo, ma-prepare na namo ang physical quartering facility sa atoang mga personnel,” said Alburo.
He and Labella also agreed to put up a fire station in Barangay Guba.
“On that part of the city, we need to be there before more residential will be there, before kana ganing development will be there so we need to be first there before ang mga development mauna nato kay ang public safety services dapat mag-una man ta sa panginahanglan sa tawo so dili lang ta mag-reacting,” explained Alburo.
Though Alburo emphasized that the plan is still on the initial stage but he is confident it will push through knowing how supportive is Labella to the need of his constituents. — GMR (FREEMAN)
