P3.5 million worth of shabu seized in a drug bust

CEBU, Philippines —   At least P3.5 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated from a high-value individual in a buy-bust operation conducted in La Tresas, Labangon, Cebu City late Thursday evening.

The suspect is believed to be the trusted man of the source who is making transactions from the city jails.

Police Captain Jonathan Dela Cerna, chief of the Cebu City Police Station 10, identified the suspect as certain Clint Bernabe Cabal who is listed in the regional level database.

Recovered from Cabal were 10 packs of suspected shabu in different sizes weighing 525 grams.

According to Dela Cerna their mode of transactions was through cellular phone wherein the contact inside the jail would instruct Cabal to meet up with someone for their illegal drug trading.

He further said that Cabal would change areas of meet up purposely to avoid being caught wherein he could dispose of up to 500 grams per week.

In the initial investigation, Cabal did not divulge any cohorts. He was arrested through information from a confidential informant. — GMR (FREEMAN)
