CH employee, 3 others nabbed for illegal drugs
CEBU, Philippines — Four people, including a female employee of the Cebu City Hall, were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the operatives of Cebu Provincial Intelligence Unit in Barangay San Vicente, Liloan yesterday dawn.
The suspects were identified as Cielo Carampatana Abella, 31, resident of Barangay Labangon, Cebu City; Hanna Niña Mirafuentes Dela Cuesta, 35, also from Barangay Labangon, Cebu City; Chilo Roy Dumaguit, 38; and Abnier Dueñas Batoctoy, 38, both residents of Barangay Tilha-ong, Consolacion.
Police Colonel Randy Korret, PIU chief, said Abella was the subject of the operation. He was tagged as high-value target who allegedly have contacts with drug suppliers operating from the City Jail. Abella is allegedly capable of disposing 100 to 200 grams of shabu every week.
Seized from the suspects were packs of suspected shabu estimated to be worth P170,000. Korret said they had been monitoring the activities of Abella in the past three weeks.
Korret said that upon investigation of the other suspects arrested along with Abella, they found out that their female companion is an employee of the Cebu City government. Dela Cuesta presented an identification card showing she is employed under the Office of the Mayor assigned as secretary to the chairman of the Local School Board.
“Siguro mag barkada ni sila sa pagsuyop and pamaligyag shabu,” said Korret.
The suspects are detained at the Liloan Police Station. They will be charged for violation of sections 5 and 12 of the Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. — FPL (FREEMAN)
