Tri-cities post ‘single digit’ COVID-19 cases

CEBU, Philippines —   For three consecutive days, the tri-cities of Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu recorded single digit COVID-19 cases.

The cities of Cebu and Mandaue logged four each, while Lapu-Lapu logged only one new case last Tuesday, according to the Department of Health (DOH)-7 data.

On Sunday, Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu recorded five, three, and eight additional cases, respectively, and on Monday, three, four, and two additional cases.

As shown on its official Facebook page, the total number of cases in Cebu City is 9,981 with 380 active cases.

Total recoveries are at 8,928, as 15 new recoveries were recorded.

The total deaths remained at 673 as no new death was reported.

The same data showed that Mandaue City has 2,441 cases, 176 of these are active.

There were 36 additional recoveries, bringing the total recoveries to 2,123.

No new death was recorded, maintaining the total deaths at 142.

Lapu-Lapu City has a total of 2,359 with 236 active cases.

Thirteen new recoveries were recorded putting the total recoveries to 2,025.

The total deaths is at 98, one was recently reported.

In Cebu Province, the total number of cases is at 5,583 with 504 active cases after recording 14 new cases.

The total number of recoveries is at 4,732, 62 of these are new.

The total number of deaths is still at 347.

As of Tuesday, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Central Visayas is at 20,877 with 1,442 active cases, 18,165 total reported recoveries, and 1,270 total reported deaths. — GAN (FREEMAN)
