Tri-cities log seven new COVID-19 cases each
CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City logged on Saturday, Sept. 26, the lowest number of additional COVID-19 cases in the last 20 days at only seven.
The city also registered four new recoveries, putting the total to 8,904, although it also posted one additional death for a total of 673, based on Department of Health-7’s case bulletin for Sept. 26.
“Yesterday (September 25), there were nine (new cases). Today (September 26), there are seven and positivity rate 1.3%.This is good. Happy Sunday,” City Councilor Joel Garganera, deputy chief implementer of the city’s Emergency Operations Center, told The FREEMAN yesterday.
Garganera, however, reminded everyone to continue wearing masks, as well as observe the rest of the health protocols.
Cebu City’s additional number of cases were identical with that posted by two other highly-urbanized cities -- Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu which also logged seven new cases each.
Lapu-Lapu currently has a total of 247 active cases while Mandaue has 210.
Both Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu also had identical additional recoveries at six each, the Sept. 26 bulletin showed.
The DOH data further showed that Cebu province composed of different LGUs, except Mandaue City, currently has 595 active cases, including 34 new ones. It also logged two additional recoveries and one additional death.
Bohol province, for its part, had 165 cases including two new cases while Negros Oriental had 64 total cases after three new cases were reported.
Siquijor, at the moment, remains COVID-free. — KQD (FREEMAN)
