Cebu Province logs 60 new COVID-19 cases

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu Province has breached the 600-mark of active COVID-19 cases while Cebu City is able to keep below the 400-mark last Saturday.

Cebu Province now has 632 active cases including 60 new cases logged as of Saturday night per Department of Health-Central Visayas bulletin.

These figures though are coming from different component cities and municipalities.

From September 13 to 19, Cebu Province logged a total of 317 new cases and eight additional deaths and recoveries of 268.

The Province of Bohol, for its part, has 135 active cases with no new reported deaths while Negros Oriental has 44 active cases and no death as well while Siquijor remains COVID-free.

Among the highly urbanized cities, Cebu City remains on top with 377 active cases, including 33 new ones, one of the highest in number of new cases recorded in a single day for the past seven days.

Lapu-Lapu City has 228 active cases including 27 new ones while Mandaue City has 228 active cases including 21 new cases.

Cebu City has no new recoveries in September 19 while Mandaue City has 25.

Overall, Central Visayas has 1,647 active cases and a total confirmed COVID-19 cases of 20,359 with 17,472 have recovered while 1,240 died. — GMR (FREEMAN)
