Cebu City records 16 new cases, 3 deaths

CEBU, Philippines — Sixteen new COVID-19 cases and three deaths were recorded in Cebu City on Friday, data of the Department of Health in Central Visayas (DOH-7) showed.

The new cases bring the city’s total coronavirus cases to 9,848, of which 344 are active.

DOH data, which was posted on its official Facebook page, also showed 24 more recoveries, bringing the city’s total number to 8,839.

The number of fatalities, on the other hand, is 665.

The same DOH-7 data showed that Mandaue City recorded only five new cases, bringing the total cases to 2,367.

Of the number, 232 are active.

Fourteen additional recoveries were also reported. The city now has 1,999 recoveries.

The total number of deaths is 136 as seven new deaths were added based on the latest update.

Moreover, Lapu-Lapu City recorded seven additional COVID-19 cases.

Its total number of cases is 2,281 with 205 active cases.

The recoveries and deaths stand at 1,984 and 92, respectively.

Cebu Province, meanwhile, recorded 48 additional cases, 39 recoveries and two deaths.

The province now has 5,282 cases with 575 active cases, 4,372 recoveries, and 335 deaths.

As of Friday, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Central Visayas is 20,205.

The number is broken down into 17,445 recoveries, 1,522 active cases and 1,238 deaths. — KQD (FREEMAN)
