CEBU, Philippines —  A 41-year-old contractor was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing three minors inside his car past midnight Sunday at San Carlos Heights in Barangay Quiot, Cebu City.

The suspect, Jose Nun~ez Baylosis Jr., allegedly lured the minors—a boy and two girls aged between 15 and 16—and brought them to the secluded area.

Baylosis recorded the sexual act on video. He is a freelance contractor and a resident of E. Sabellano Street in Barangay Pardo.

Police Colonel Josefino Ligan, Cebu City Police Office chief, said they received reports that the suspect would befriend unsuspecting minors by bringing them to restaurants and giving them alcoholic drinks.

After gaining their trust, Ligan said, Baylosis would usually take them to the area and would ask them to perform sexual acts while he would take a video of them.

“The suspect has been doing this for quite a while now. He will bring the kids to San Carlos Heights and will ask them to perform sex. He will take videos and photos of them,” said Ligan.

Ligan said some of the abused minors have filed a complaint against Baylosis.

The suspect was then placed under surveillance, resulting in his arrest.  He was with the minors during the operation.

Cops have recovered lewd videos and photos from Baylosis’ cellular phone, which was submitted to the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU) for examination of lewd videos and photos, during the operation.

Cops have yet to find out if the sex videos were being sold.

The minors were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development for counseling, while Baylosis is now detained at the CCPO detention cell.

Baylosis will face charges for violating Republic Act 9208 or The Anti-Trafficking in Persons (as amended by RA 10364 or The Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons).  — KQD (FREEMAN)
