DOH to launch emergency healthline today

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The Department of Health– Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-CVCHD) is set to launch today its emergency healthline.

The healthline number is 711 which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

But while DOH-CVCHD is still acquiring the 711 special number, those who wish to call the healthline may dial 411-6900 or 0967-221-9120.

The healthline is set up to help the public on their inquiries related to health services or emergency situations needing referral and coordination.

Those with coronavirus symptoms can also connect with the healthline.

For the meantime, the healthline is open to serve the towns and cities within Metro Cebu and Cebu province as the pilot areas.

But the initiative will soon be implemented regionwide, said DOH-CVCHD.

DOH has advised the public to use the referral system following the reported full capacity of hospitals due to COVID-19.

So as not to wait for a long queue or worse, getting rejected by a hospital, it is best that one has to call the healthline first, the DOH-CVCHD said.

DOH has partnered with the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the VIsayas(OPAV) for this project. — KQD (FREEMAN)
