Cebu City logs 321 recoveries

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella announced that 321 COVID-19 patients have recovered yesterday, the highest recoveries reported in the city thus far.

This brings the total number of those who recovered at 792, or 36.9% recoveries.

The biggest bulk of the recoveries came from Barangay Mambaling with 279.

The other recoveries recorded were from Barangay Tejero with 22; Barangay Labangon with 15; Barangay Mabolo with two; while Barangays Capitol Site, Bo. Luz, and Lahug added one each.

Labella expressed his gratitude to the patients for cooperating and for the frontliners who took care of the patients in the different Barangay Isolation Centers (BIC) in the whole city.

Meanwhile, the City Health Department (CHD) announced 89 new cases in the city.

Of the 89, most of the cases were from Barangay Ermita with 26; Barangay Mambaling with 13; Barangay Pasil with eight; Barangay Sawang Calero with seven; Barangay Sambag 2 with five; Barangay San Nicolas Proper with four; while Barangays Labangon and Mabolo recorded three each.

Barangays Duljo, Camputhaw, Capitol Site, Basak San Nicolas added two cases each.

One new case was recorded each from Barangays Tinago, Bo. Luz, Tejero, Suba, Guadalupe, Punta, Lahug, Carreta, Apas, San Antonio, Cogon Pardo, and Tabunan.

The total number of cases in the city as of Friday is 2,144. Of this number, 1,325 are active cases.

Province

Meanwhile, the Province of Cebu has logged three new cases and one repeat positive test result for COVID-19 out of the 179 swab tests.

Two of the new cases are from Minglanilla - a 57 and 37-year-old female from the same family.  They are now admitted at the Chong Hua Hospital.

The other new case is still being verified. At present, the patient is at the Camp Lapu-Lapu Station Hospital.

The repeat test is from Cordova.

At present, the province has 147 COVID-19 cases.   GAN (FREEMAN)
