Cebu City records 42 new cases

CEBU, Philippines — Forty two residents of Cebu City had tested positive of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) yesterday.

The biggest bulk of the cases come from Barangay Pasil with 23 new cases recorded.

The other new cases come from Barangay Sambag 2 with three; Barangay Suba with three; while Barangays Tejero, Ermita and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology posting two cases each.

Barangays Tisa, Inayawan, Basak Pardo, Mambaling, Sawang Calero, Pahina and Duljo had one case each.

The additional cases have increased to 2,055 the total number of persons infected with COVID-19 in Cebu City. Of that figure, 1,559 are active cases.

The Cebu City Health Department (CHD) has also announced 77 COVID-19 tests that yielded negative results, bringing the total number of recoveries in the city to 471, as of yesterday.

Of the 77 cases, 62 are from Barangay Luz, eight from Barangay Bacayan, three from Barangay Suba, three from Barangay Punta, and one from Barangay Labangon.

The 62 COVID-19 lab-negative patients in the Barangay Isolation Center of Barangay Luz were released yesterday. They were from Sitio Sto. Niño 1, San Vicente and Cabantan.

Also, 33 patients from Barangay Carreta were sent home yesterday after they tested negative of the virus. GAN (FREEMAN)
